Arcadia Police Investigating Cannabis Extraction Lab Inside Residence

On Nov. 18, 2019, at approximately 10:50 p.m., officers responded to the 2500 block of South Second Avenue, on the report of a traffic collision, with a possible vehicle into a residence. Officers found no traffic collision but did discover that an explosion occurred at the residence. Preliminary investigation revealed that the explosion appeared to be related to an indoor concentrated cannabis extraction lab.

A male adult was found injured and transported to a local hospital by Arcadia Fire Department Paramedics. No other injuries were reported. The structure contained hazardous materials, so allied HAZMAT agencies responded to assist at the scene. Nearby residents were briefly evacuated until the scene could be deemed safe by HAZMAT personnel.

Detectives responded to the scene for further investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
