Nov. 8

Murder Mystery Dinner Theater Show at The Old Spaghetti Factory at 6 p.m. (1431 Buena Vista St., Duarte, CA 91010). Put on your detective hat, dust off your magnifying glass, and solve a case that will keep you guessing (and laughing) until the end. Pasadena Arts and Crafts Show at Hilton Pasadena, Nov. 8-10 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. (168 S. Los Robles Ave., Pasadena, CA 91101). Prepare for over 200 artisan exhibits and atelier workshops, along with complimentary food, wine and craft cocktail tastings, music, prizes and more—une grande exposition to bring on the holiday spirit. The Sensational Woman Conference at Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles Pasadena/Monrovia from noon to 5 p.m. (700 W. Huntington Drive, Monrovia, CA 91016). The conference is meant to help attendees learn financial tips and strategies, identify limiting thoughts and behaviors, and learn to make decisions more confidently. Tickets are $129. Frozen Tea Party at Monrovia Community Center at noon (119 W. Palm Ave., Monrovia, CA 91016). Not only will you get to enjoy great teas with Anna, Elsa and friends, but included is a luncheon and dessert bar. This is Centre Stage’s first annual fundraiser, silent auction and raffle. Veterans Day Ceremony at Monrovia Library Park from 11 a.m. to noon (321 S. Myrtle Ave., Monrovia, CA 91016). This year, in partnership with the American Legion Post 44, a new plaque has been installed in Library Park to recognize all the men and women who served in Vietnam. Attendance is free. Veterans Day Ceremony at Pasadena City Hall at 10:30 a.m. (100 N. Garfield Ave., Pasadena, CA 91103). The community, especially all current and former members of the U.S. military and their families and all first responders, are invited to join other local veterans, city officials and community leaders for a special Veterans Day ceremony concluding with a special military fly-over at 11:11 a.m. The celebration features marching bands, guest speakers and light refreshments. Operation Gratitude: Write A Letter To Our Troops at Westfield Santa Anita from 1-5 p.m. (Center Court at 400 S. Baldwin Ave. #231, Arcadia, CA 91007).Operation Gratitude sends over 300,000 care packages each year to deployed troops, veterans, recruit graduates, first responders and wounded heroes and their caregivers. Writing a letter is a meaningful way to show support for all who serve, and of all the items included in these care packages, the most cherished are the personal notes of appreciation.
