With decades of experience in public health — including 25 years with the U.S. Navy, Dr. Margan Zajdowicz will provide a lens on issues being debated in the 2020 election. She will speak at a free public forum on Nov. 7 sponsored by the League of Women Voters Pasadena Area, it will be at the Women’s City Club of Pasadena, 160 N. Oakland Ave. Registration is at 8:30 a.m., there will be an optional $25 breakfast at 9 a.m. and program at 9:45 a.m. Reservations are available at lwv-pa.orgoffice@lwv-pa.org or (626) 798-0965

The embattled Affordable Care Act of 2010 has undergone changes to the point it is hardly recognizable today. In the proliferation of proposed plans, similar terminology has caused massive confusion, leaving the electorate perplexed regarding which approach is more equitable, affordable, reasonable and acceptable.

Zajdowicz will shed light on the more confusing aspects of national healthcare policy in the 2020 elections and provide tools to make well-informed choices.

She is co-chair of the LWV-PA Healthcare Committee and has studied current issues over the past eight months. She holds a bachelor’s from Johns Hopkins University, an M.D. from the University of Maryland and an M.P.H. from Old Dominion University in Virginia. Her career included academic appointments as well as 25 years in leadership positions as a medical officer in the U.S. Navy.

While the forum is free, the League asks people to bring non-perishable items such as granola bars and trail mix as well as toiletries and personal products for the Lancer Food Pantry at PCC for students coping with food and monetary insufficiency.
