It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. It was also, perhaps, the shortest city gig for Fire Chief Brad Dover. Technically, Dover served as InterimCity Manager for only 10 days when the city appointed him Sept. 17 to step inafter Oliver Chi stepped down on his way to the beach.
On Friday after 4 p.m., Sept. 27, the City of Monrovia sent out a pressrelease stating the decision was made and that Dylan Feik was to replace OliverChi for the top job in the city.
Friday’s announcement caught some by surprise and felt it was prematureto make the call BEFORE the regular council meeting on Oct. 1.
The press release sent out by the city read through “thorough andextensive evaluation process, the City Council has identified Dylan Feik astheir preferred candidate to serve as Monrovia’s next City Manager. Mr.Feik’s formal appointment will presented by the City Council at their regularmeeting on Tuesday, Oct. 1.”
The Monrovia City Council unanimously voted Feik as its next citymanager during the council meeting on Tuesday night.
