

Help promote literacy in Monrovia byvolunteering as a classroom reader during Read Across Monrovia on Thursday,Oct. 3. Read Across is a day where volunteers from across the community read todistrict classrooms across the city (kindergarten through fifthth grades).
Sign up by filling out the volunteer form on thecity’swebsite. Most visits start at 8 a.m. (although thereare a few afternoon time slots available). Once you fill out the form andreturn it, you will be contacted regarding the school, teacher, room number,and grade you will be reading to. You can even decide which school or gradelevel you would like to visit and library staff are happy to help you pick outbooks to read.
