Help promote literacy in Monrovia by volunteering as a classroom reader during Read Across Monrovia on Thursday, Oct. 3. Read Across is a day where volunteers from across the community read to district classrooms across the city (kindergarten through fifthth grades).
Sign up by filling out the volunteer form on the city’s website. Most visits start at 8 a.m. (although there are a few afternoon time slots available). Once you fill out the form and return it, you will be contacted regarding the school, teacher, room number, and grade you will be reading to. You can even decide which school or grade level you would like to visit and library staff are happy to help you pick out books to read.
This wonderful event is coordinated each year by Monrovia Reads. If you have questions, feel free to call Joanne Spring at (626) 358-1952 or Diane Delmatoff at (626) 388-4544.
