Pasadena Police Release Video of Officer Involved Shooting

On Friday May 17, 2019, an Officer Involved Shooting occurred on Glen Avenue north of Howard Street involving three Pasadena Police officers. No officers were injured during this incident but the suspect unfortunately died from his injuries. The attached Critical Incident Community Briefing video is based upon a preliminary review of the incident, which is still under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office Officer Involved Shooting Team, and the Pasadena Police Department Professional Standards Detectives. Additional facts may be discovered as more evidence is located and reviewed.

The Pasadena Police Department conducts Use of Force investigations, outside the review of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, which includes, interviewing witnesses, involved officers, analyzing video and forensic evidence, as well as eyewitness statements. After the investigation is completed the Police Chief will make a final determination whether the officers involved acted within department policy.
