Driver Dies in Dramatic Early Morning Accident in Arcadia

On Aug. 8, 2019, at approximately 3:15 a.m., officers responded to the 00 block of Las Tunas Drive, on the report of a solo vehicle traffic collision. A preliminary investigation revealed a red sedan was traveling westbound on Las Tunas Drive from Santa Anita Avenue. For unknown reasons, the vehicle struck the center median and crossed the eastbound lanes of traffic. The vehicle went up the curb and struck a nearby building.

Paramedics from the Arcadia Fire Department responded and the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The identity of the driver has not been confirmed at this time and there were no other occupants inside the vehicle.
