Arcadia Crime Blotters: July 28 – July 20
July 28
Shortly before 1:49 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of Fano Street regarding a disturbance report. An investigation revealed two men were physically fighting each other. A 49-year-old male from Pomona was arrested as the primary aggressor and he was transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At approximately 3:19 p.m., an officer responded to Aldi, at 1403 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a grand theft report. The officer determined an unknown suspect discretely stole the victim’s purse from inside a tote while she was loading her groceries into her cart. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
July 29
Just after 7:11 a.m., an officer responded to Vi-Spa Massage, at 500 East Live Oak Avenue, regarding a business check request. The officer discovered an unknown suspect smashed part of the front glass door and entered the business; however, no loss was reported. The investigation is ongoing.
At approximately 9:11 a.m., an officer responded to a location in the 100 block of East Santa Clara Street regarding a vandalism report. The reporting party discovered “SRH 2019” and “RIP DOSO” had been spray painted on one of the buildings. Surveillance footage revealed two suspects were responsible for the graffiti. The investigation is ongoing.
July 30
Around 10:58 a.m., an officer responded to T & M Auto Repair, at 16 West Live Oak Avenue, regarding a stolen vehicle report. Sometime between July 29th and July 30th, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s vehicle from the parking lot. The investigation is ongoing.
Just before 2:35 p.m., an officer responded to the Santa Anita Mall, at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed it was an altercation between an estranged husband and wife. The suspect choked his wife, punched her, and he pulled her hair. The 30-year-old male, from Covina, was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
July 31
At about 5:48 a.m., an officer responded to the parking lot of Hilton Garden Inn, at 199 North Second Avenue, regarding a grand theft report. The officer determined an unknown suspect smashed the car window and stole speakers, a microwave, and various other household items. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
Shortly after 2:29 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Baldwin Avenue and Las Tunas Drive regarding a traffic collision. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his breath. Through a series of tests, the officer determined the suspect was driving with a blood alcohol content of .26%. The 55-year-old male, from San Gabriel, was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
August 1
At 7:48 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 700 block of Anokia Lane regarding a burglary report. An investigation revealed unknown suspects smashed a second story window and fled with an unknown amount of property. The investigation is ongoing.
At 10:08 a.m., an officer responded to McKee Cecilia Jaime DMD Dentistry, at 145 East Duarte Road, regarding a vandalism report. Surveillance footage revealed two suspects attempted to enter the business by smashing the front glass window with a sledge hammer, however, they failed and fled empty-handed in a dark-colored SUV.
One suspect was described as being a black male with a mustache and goatee, who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. The second suspect was a black male, with a mustache and beard, who was wearing a black jacket with white stripes down the sleeves. The investigation is ongoing.
August 2
At about 8:42 a.m., an officer responded to a residence, in the 200 block of East Longden Avenue, regarding a theft from a vehicle report. The officer determined an unknown suspect entered the unlocked vehicle and stole the victim’s paintball equipment, hiking boots, and a knife. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
Just before 11:00 a.m., an officer responded to a home in the 100 block of West Magna Vista Avenue regarding a fraud report. The victim discovered a fraudulent charge of $5,800.00 on his bank account. The victim did not know how the suspect obtained his personal information or the identity of the suspect.
August 3
Shortly after 12:32 p.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Huntington Drive and La Cadena Avenue regarding a weapons violation report. An investigation revealed the suspect pointed an imitation firearm at the victim over a road rage incident. The investigation is ongoing.
At approximately 4:00 p.m., an officer responded to LensCrafters, at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a grand theft report. Surveillance footage revealed an unidentified male stole nearly $3,800.00 worth of glasses frames.
The suspect was described as a white or Hispanic male, tall, with an average build, who was wearing a black and white hat, grey T-shirt, dark pants, and white shoes. The investigation is ongoing.
