Splash House is Coming!

My first foray into the Splash House experience was in 2014. I didn’t know much about the festival, or the concept in general. Was it a pool party? A hotel party? Was it a EDM festival with furry boots and bikinis?

The second I stepped out onto the scene at The Saguaro Hotel in Palm Springs, my senses exploded. The colors! The people! The music! My endorphins were jolted into a wild ride that would last (sans-Molly) the whole weekend.

The fun isn’t just at the pools, in front of the DJ, or on the flamingo floating device. The fun happens in the in-between. And that might be one of the many aspects of genius in this whole operation: cultivating a sense of community.

Busing from hotel to hotel, hotel room hopping, and pool accessory sharing lends to a conflict free and, dare I say, utopian experience. Not to get political but…don’t we all need a little taste of that these days?

You know those pleasant conversations you have with people at parties or festivals where you connect and walk away thinking, “Well, that was nice.” You’ll have those! I promise! You’ll have them at the edge of the pool, on the bus, and in lobbies while you chill and await the next stop or adventure.

But most of all: you will dance.

The music has always been shockingly sophisticated at Splash House. They started off on the more predictable, yet entertaining, side, then they progressed, inviting more contemporary or unexpected artists to the party.

Even if you’re not the neon pink, fist pumping type, you’ll find someone worth dancing or bobbing or jumping to on the line-up.

Artists to enjoy this month? Check out Snakehips, Toro y Moi, Ekali, Computer Data, Croatia Squad, Hippie Sabotage and so so many more.  Special performances from Ardalan and Walker & Royce’s trio Escapade and night sets from Hot Since 82, Mark Knight and more round out the bill.  Plus the after parties go on and on into the night, with talented artists holding their own at the Air Museum after hours.

Every year, the festival gets a little more known, and just a little more popular. They deserve the hype, to say the least. At Splash House, in many ways more than other festivals, you definitely get your money’s worth.

Get your tickets here and enjoy the ride!
