Photogenic Arcadia has been the backdrop for Hollywood movies for decades. At the Gilb Museum of Arcadia Heritage there will be a celebration for the 8th Annual “Arcadia at The Movies” program. The event will be held on Aug. 10, at 7:30 p.m. A pre-movie talk about the movie, “Hells Angels” (1930) and cast will be presented by film historian A.J. Downhower. Pack your lawn chair and a beverage — the Museum will provide the popcorn. Minors must be supervised.

Scenes from the movie were filmed at the Old Ross Field Balloon School. This exciting war-time adventure was directed by Howard Hughes and featured Jean Harlow and Ben Lyon.
