As part of the Monrovia Community Garden program, the city will coordinate free educational workshops open to the public, not just those renting plots, throughout the year. The first workshop, Veggie Gardening 101, on Saturday, July 27, at 9 a.m. will focus on seasonal planting, thinning, watering, companion planting and basic pest control.
The garden encourages those attending to walk, bike, carpool or use GoMonrovia. If you decide to drive, used the parking lot at Montainside Communion as well as parking in the alley off Colorado Boulevard and Magnolia Avenue. Those who walk or bike to the event will receive a special incentive.
