The DUI checkpoint scheduled to take place on Friday, July 26, 2019 has been changed to a citywide DUI saturation patrol that will take place on the same date. The hours of the saturation patrol will be from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. “This change was done to accommodate the operational needs of our DUI enforcement team,” said Lieutenant Mark Goodman of the Pasadena Police Department Traffic Section.

“We are committed to DUI enforcement, and want everyone to stay safe when enjoying our many dining and entertainment establishment throughout the city,” said Goodman. Avoiding a DUI is completely preventable, and the Pasadena Police Department urges people to designate a sober driver or to utilize one of many safe ride home options available to the public including taxi and ride share services.

The cancelled DUI checkpoint will be rescheduled for a date in August. As always, a corresponding press release will notify the community in advance of the checkpoint.

Funding for this DUI saturation patrol is provided to Pasadena Police Department by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
