As the temperatures started heating up for summer, the Pasadena Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees) brought a slip n’ slide, water balloons, and more fun in the sun to the foster children living at the Five Acres child care agency in Altadena. As part of their annual Summer Event, the Pasadena Jaycees did science experiments with the kids, played basketball, and kickball, and got creative with arts and crafts projects. Magician “Funny Eddie” also entertained the Five Acres residents with jokes and magic to close out the event. Year after year, the event is a positive, fun-filled day for the children, and the Jaycees were bestowed the Special Services to Children Award for the project from Five Acres in 2013.
