Canyon Park and Monrovia Public Library host a Family Hike and Campout event in Canyon Park’s  Fireman’s Flat Picnic Ares (1200 N. Canyon Blvd.) which fills up fast. Families make memories under the stars, enjoy a barbecue dinner, s’mores, day and night hikes, story time and much more.

There are still opportunities to attend one of these campouts this summer. Campouts are scheduled for:

  • July 27 – 28.
  • Aug. 25 – 26.
  • Aug. 7 – 8.
  • Sept. 28 – 29.

There is a registration fee of $50 for residents and $55 for non-residents for a 10-by-10-foot space. A maximum of four people can accompany one space. Food and drink are provided for the event, but you can pack your own food, snacks, and water. You may start setting up for the event at 2 p.m. on the Saturday of the event and can stay as long as you wish on Sunday up until the 5 p.m. closing time for Canyon Park. To register, visit cityofmonroviarecreation.org.

Call the Community Services Department at (626) 256-8155 if you have any questions.
