Gilb Museum’s ‘Faces of Arcadia’ Points to Cultural Diversity

The Friends of the Gilb Museum of Arcadia Heritage will be presenting their annual fundraiser event on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019 at the Community Center and the Museum. Titled “Faces of Arcadia,” festivities will begin with a social hour from 5–6 p.m., followed by a catered dinner from 6-7 p.m. and main entertainment from 7–9 p.m.

Entertainment will be based on some of the various cultures that reside in the City of Arcadia. The social hour will have various groups doing demonstrations of cultural artistry and the guests will be able to walk among the presentations and watch and interact with the groups. Featured entertainment will include dances from India, India classical music, an Indian artist, Japanese tea ceremony, Japanese origami and calligraphy, the playing of the Chinese harp, Chinese watercolor brush painting, and Ukrainian egg painting.

The main entertainment will be Irish dancers, German dancers, Mexican dancers, Flamenco dancing, and the finale given by the Chanteurs from Arcadia High School. This fundraiser is open to the general public.
