Following the release of the EP Size of Relief, Dutch-born musician and visual artist, Nick van Hofwegen, known by the music and art project name Young & Sick, sets out on tour with his three-piece band to play an exclusive headlining show at The Echo Thursday, June 20 at 7 p.m.

Fans can expect a three-piece band who have played together long enough to have that deeply dynamic connection.

“I’m really proud of the way the live show has been shaping up,” said van Hofwegen.

“The play is a really nice mixture of some new songs, and some refreshed versions of older tracks.”

Visual arts and musicianship go hand-in-hand when it comes to the work of Young & Sick. In April 2014, van Hofwegen released his first self-titled album on a vinyl LP featuring his original artwork. Aside from his own art, Young & Sick also creates album artwork for other artists such as Foster the People,  Mikky Ekko, and Maroon 5, just to list a few.

Young & Sick’s music gives what he describes as “a sample heavy mixture of sounds that feel nostalgic with a modern approach.” This has earned him the title of “Band to Watch” by Stereogum and “The Next Hype” by BBC Radio 1.

Check out the show, tickets are $12 in advanced and $14 at the door. The show is for ages 18 years and older. Check out the hype of Young & Sick!
