Shortly before 11:54 a.m., an officer responded to a parking structure for H Mart, 1101 W. Huntington Drive, regarding a vehicle burglary report. The victim discovered her vehicle was unlocked by unknown means and the suspect fled with her designer wallet and cash. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
At approximately 7:06 p.m., an officer noticed a small plume of smoke nearby and determined it was coming from a fire in a vacant parking lot. Arcadia Fire responded and extinguished the fire. The investigation is ongoing.
June 3
Just after 12:46 p.m., officers responded to Vons, 745 W. Naomi Ave., regarding a shoplifting report. An investigation revealed two suspects stole two bottles of whiskey. The officers located one of the suspects, found him in possession of the stolen alcohol, and a consensual search revealed he was also in possession of methamphetamine. The 40-year-old male from Azusa was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At approximately 9:29 p.m., an officer responded to CVS Pharmacy, 188 Las Tunas Drive, regarding a domestic dispute. The officer discovered the victim’s estranged husband, was following and harassing her. The harassment occurred three separate times in one day, all requiring police response. The suspect, a 42-year-old male from Temple City, was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking for stalking.
June 4
Around 5:34 a.m., an officer responded to Si Hai Restaurant, 713 W. Duarte Road, regarding a commercial burglary report. Employees arrived at work and discovered the front glass door had been smashed and the cash register had been stolen. Surveillance footage revealed at least three suspects are responsible for the crime. The suspects are described as males wearing white hooded sweatshirts. The investigation is ongoing.
Just before 10:14 a.m., an officer responded to StorAmerica, 5630 Peck Road, regarding a commercial burglary report. Surveillance footage revealed the suspect broke into six storage units sometime during the night of June 2. The suspect is described as a white male with a thin build, wearing a black baseball hat, long sleeve plaid shirt, and shorts. The investigation is ongoing.
June 5
At about 6:42 a.m., an officer responded to the 1400 block of South Baldwin Avenue regarding a stolen vehicle in the area. Upon locating the vehicle unoccupied and parked, the officers waited for the driver to return. The driver, a 29-year-old female from Chino Hills, was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. A records check revealed she had one outstanding misdemeanor warrant and one felony warrant. A consensual search revealed she was in possession of a controlled substance and unlawful paraphernalia.
Shortly after 3:23 p.m., officers responded to a traffic collision in the 900 block of West Duarte Road. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from her breath and noticed two teenage children inside the vehicle. The 44-year-old mother from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
June 6
Before 10:44 a.m., an officer responded to All Star Fire Equipment, 12328 Lower Azusa Road, regarding a suspicious circumstances report. After quoting a customer from the United Arab Emirates for fire equipment, the company eventually mailed a check for nearly $19,000 more than the quoted amount. The return address was in Alaska and the company issuing the check was from Las Vegas. Due to all of the inconsistencies, All Star Fire Equipment refused to cash the check assuming it was fraudulent.
Around 1:02 p.m., an officer responded to Law Divine at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a grand theft report. Surveillance footage revealed the suspect stole one pair of Nike Air Jordan’s valued at $1,150 from the store. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, full beard, wearing a black hat, black jacket, yellow shirt, and grey shorts. The investigation is ongoing.
June 7
At about 5:07 a.m., officers responded to 88 Beef Noodle, 1045 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding the activation of an Arcadia Police Department GPS tracker. An investigation revealed three suspects committed a commercial burglary and had fled the location with a hidden GPS tracking device. Officers located the device in the back seat of the suspect’s car along with a large amount of marijuana, a scale, and baggies. A 20-year-old male from Inglewood, a 20-year-old male from Los Angeles, and an 18-year-old male from Los Angeles were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Just before 7:11 a.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Duarte Road and El Monte Avenue for driving without license plates. Upon contacting the driver, the officer discovered the 35-year-old male from Los Angeles was in possession of a fraudulent Social Security Card and was driving without ever being issued a license. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
June 8
Shortly after 3:05 a.m., an officer witnessed the suspect’s vehicle collide with the center median near the intersection of South Santa Anita and Camino Real avenues. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his person. A series of tests confirmed the suspect was driving with a blood alcohol content of .14%. The 19-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At approximately 9:55 p.m., an officer responded to the Santa Anita Mall, 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a stolen vehicle report. Sometime between 5 and 8 p.m., unknown suspect(s) stole the victim Kia Optima. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
