Summer at Arcadia Library Kick-Off Week for Children
On“It’s Showtime at Your Library” is this year’s theme for Summer at Your Library at Arcadia Public Library. Online registration for the summer program begins on Saturday, June 1: anyone can register online by going to ArcadiaCA.gov/Library. Children under 12 can win prizes by reading anywhere from 100 to 500 cumulative minutes throughout the eight-week program. Starting Monday, June 10, they can pick up their prizes.
Children are also invited to stop by the Arcadia Public Library from Monday, June 3 to Saturday, June 8, to sign up for the reading program, pick out some great books, and attend one or more fun Kick-Off Week events. All supplies provided while they last—no registration required. All ages welcome, although younger children must be with an adult.
Name that Tune! Tuesday, June 4, 3:30 p.m.
How well do you know music? Third through sixth graders can test their knowledge by competing in the Library’s “Name that Tune” game show. Contestants will hear a few seconds of songs in various music categories—the team getting the most right will win.
If You Show a Kid a Movie… Thursday, June 6, 3:30 p.m.
Kids of all ages are invited to enjoy popcorn and a good movie to celebrate the start of Summer at Your Library. Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult.
“The Three Little Pigs: The Puppet Musical” Saturday, June 8, 11 a.m. or 2:30 p.m.
Noteworthy Puppets will present a musical version of that timeless story featuring handmade puppets and original songs. Fun for all ages.
