Shortly before 4:51 a.m., officers responded to the activation of an Arcadia Police Department GPS tracking device at a construction site in the 00 block of Wheeler Avenue. An investigation revealed unknown suspect(s) attempted to steal a piece of equipment containing the tracking device but failed and fled emptyhanded. The investigation is ongoing.
At approximately 8:22 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 00 block of El Dorado Street regarding a vandalism report. Sometime during the previous night, unknown suspect(s) damaged the windshield wipers, rear view mirrors, and door panels to the victim’s car. The suspect is believed to be a disgruntled neighbor. The investigation is ongoing.
April 1
Just after 6:14 a.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of East Huntington Drive regarding a petty theft report. A witness stated an unknown Hispanic male stole the victim’s unlocked bicycles from the front of the location. The investigation is ongoing.
At approximately 10:17 a.m., an officer responded to the 1000 block of West Duarte Road regarding a vehicle burglary report. The officer discovered an unknown suspect broke the passenger window of the vehicle and stole two pairs of glasses among other miscellaneous items. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
April 2
Around 4:52 p.m., an officer responded to the front counter of the Arcadia Police Department regarding a fraud report. An investigation revealed the fraud victim was also the victim of an armed robbery in South El Monte where the suspects stole her purse. Since the robbery, unauthorized credit card charges have occurred as well as fraudulent check transactions. The investigation is ongoing.
Just before 8 p.m., an officer responded to a parking lot in the 100 block of East Huntington Drive regarding a theft from vehicle report. The officer discovered an unknown suspect entered the unlocked vehicle and stole miscellaneous paperwork. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
April 3
At about 12:24 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of First Avenue and Santa Clara Street regarding a publicly intoxicated subject. An investigation revealed that while the suspect was being arrested for public intoxication, the 28-year-old male from Los Angeles, resisted arrest and used his head to strike an Arcadia PD Officer. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Shortly after 3:40 p.m., an officer responded to JCPenney, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a petty theft report. Loss prevention specialist witnessed the suspect conceal numerous items before exiting the store, failing to make payment. The 35-year-old female from Rosemead was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
April 4
Before 7:40 a.m., an officer responded to the 00 block of East Foothill Boulevard regarding a vehicle check request. Upon contacting the driver, the officer saw a 3 ounce can, larger than the legal limit, of pepper spray inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed there were two 7.9 ounce cans of pepper spray. A 43-year-old male and a 25-year-old female, both from Dunedin, Florida, were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail.
Around 10:30 a.m., officers responded to rePlanet, 745 West Naomi Avenue, regarding a battery report. Officers determined a disgruntled customer choked the employee over a disagreement. A 33-year-old male from San Gabriel was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
April 5
At about 4:42 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Arcadia Avenue regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed an argument between a female and her ex-boyfriend turned physical when he choked her. The 35-year-old male from Pasadena was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Just before 11:01 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Fairview Avenue regarding a burglary report. Officers discovered an unknown suspect smashed a front window, activated the alarm, and fled without entering the home. No loss was reported, no suspects were seen, and no witnesses were located.
April 6
Shortly after 2:30 p.m., an officer responded to an apartment complex in the 400 block of Fairview Avenue regarding a package theft report. The victim had their package stolen from the community mailbox area sometime between 4:28 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on April 6th. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
At approximately 7:50 p.m., an officer responded to the 800 block of Sunset Boulevard regarding a suspicious person. An investigation revealed an unknown suspect tampered with the secured laundry room door and also left pry marks on the box where the rent checks are deposited. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
