Monrovia Community Garden Pilot Program Taking Applications
Lead by Garden Director Kristin Ritzu, Monrovia’s Community Garden Pilot Program is set to launch this summer. It’s anticipated the new Monrovia Community Garden facility will be ready for use in May / June, and the program is now taking applications from those interested in reserving private raised beds. The application form, along with additional information, can be downloaded from the Monrovia Community Garden website.
“Monrovia Community Garden exists to provide a space of community building and education through gardening,” according to Monrovia Community Garden. The program strives to grow, increase knowledge about sustainability, and showcase what helps lead a healthy life together as neighbors.
In partnership with Mountainside Communion, the garden will take shape at the North-west corner of Colorado Blvd. and Magnolia Ave. which is open for the public to walk through. The public may not access the raised beds behind the fences. To minimize impact to neighbors, please park in church parking lot or alley parking lot.
