“Immigration and Democracy — From the Census to the Path of Citizenship” will be the topic of a free public forum sponsored by the League of Women Voters Pasadena Area April 4, 10:30 a.m. at the Women’s City Club, 160 N. Oakland Ave., Pasadena.

Ely Flores of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) will discuss participation of Latinos in civic life and the situation of documented and undocumented immigrants in the Los Angeles area.

As director of civic engagement at NALEO education fund, he also will offer opportunities for advocacy on specific projects.

LWV-PA supports immigrant rights and reunifications of families. The League is non-partisan in that it neither supports nor oppose political parties. It does, however, take positions on public policy issues after member studies and consensus.

Reservations for the forum and/or an optional lunch for $25 can be made online my.lwv.org/california/pasadena or calling 626-798-0965. The deadline is midnight March 29.
