Pacific Rose Society is proud to announce that Dexter Friede, who represents the Grow More company, will be the special guest speaker on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at the Los Angeles Arboretum at 601 N. Baldwin Ave. Grow More is a chemical specialty company specializing in inorganic and organic nutrients for the Agricultural industry. Grow More has 100 plus products out in stores nationwide plus 35 countries.

Friede is a horticulture specialist in plant nutrients. During his twenty-four years with Grow More, Inc., Friede has developed several product lines for the retail, nursery, agriculture, and hydroponics industry. His passions include working with gardening associations like rose societies and developing new products that help increase the quality of their roses. Friede will be sharing his expertise on how to utilize a wide assortment of fertilizers, soil enhancements and micronutrients such as Magnum Rose Food, Seaweed Extract, BioStart and some brand-new supplements to enhance the health and beauty of our rose gardens.  He will be bringing some samples to share with attendees.

Friede states, “With my horticultural experience, education, knowledge and love for the development of proper plant growth, I was fortunate in being placed with Grow More Inc.  I come to talk about plant nutrients and the importance of micronutrients for the rose. I will talk about the various products we manufacture, and encourage questions on specific situations and what deficiency they may have. There are many methods to apply fertilizers, proper soil conditions and organic nutrients that I will discuss through our Grow More research farms development team.”

In his program, Friede will address such questions as: How do you read a fertilizer label?  How do the plants receive nutrients? Why are these nutrients important to the rose both old and new or any plant? Why are micronutrients important and what signs show a deficiency? What is the difference in using chemical versus organic fertilizers? Why are the pH levels in soils and fertilizer applications important? Are the soil conditions in California different from those in other states? Friede will also take additional questions from attendees. All this comes just in time for the highly-anticipated spring bloom.

Pacific Rose Society will host a pot luck dinner that is open to all in attendance, and it will begin at 7 p.m. and the program will begin at 8 p.m. Admission is free to any and all rose lovers and home gardeners.
