MUSD Students, Teachers & Staff Participate in Old Town Monrovia FuzzFest
Twelve students from Monrovia Unified elementary, middle and high schools will shave their heads at the fourth annual Old Town Monrovia FuzzFest event (March 15 from 5-9 p.m.), in partnership with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
In addition, nine MUSD employees will shave their heads in a display of support for children who lose their hair during cancer treatment. Fundraising teams from Mayflower Elementary, Clifton Middle School, and Monrovia High School are currently the top three fundraising teams for the event.
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-powered charity, and funds childhood cancer research grants. Over the last three years, Monrovia’s community has raised more than $95,000 toward research grants to find a cure for childhood cancer.
Students participating in the event attend Monrovia High School, Santa Fe Computer Science Magnet School, Clifton Middle School, and Monroe and Mayflower Elementary.
