6th Annual Pasadena International Film Festival Begins

The Pasadena International Film Festival (PIFF) premiered the first set of featured films on Wednesday, March 13 at Laemmle Playhouse 7. Kicking off the first series was Block 1 titled “City Of Roses & The American Dream.” The Crown City shorts program consisted of three films featuring “The Running Man of Pasadena,” “Out of The Shadows” and “Band Geeks.” All three films depicted stories about human connection, finding a voice in your community and free spirit. PIFF featured a total of 12 films on the first day and will continue to showcase many more.
PIFF will keep film-showings running all the way through Wednesday, March 20. The Great Gatsby Gala & Award Ceremony will be held at The Speakeasy in Pasadena. Red carpet arrivals will begin at 7 p.m. followed by the award ceremony at 8 p.m. Andy Peke out of NYC will be the master of ceremonies. Passes for this event will not be for sale at the door; so please make sure to purchase your tickets in advance. Tickets for individual blocks are only $14 and may purchased here or directly at the theater box office. You also have the option to purchase passes directly at pasadenafilmfestival.org or at the Laemmle Playhouse 7. An all-access pass is $144, $94 for a screener and lounge pass which includes all events except the gala, $50 for a gala pass, and $35 for a day pass. The panel event titled “Breaking Into Screenwriting” presented by the Scriptwriters Network on Saturday, March 16 at Vroman’s Bookstore is free and open to the public and will start at 2 p.m. There will be complimentary parking in the lot behind the store. Seating will be available on a first come, first serve basis.
