By Susan Motander

Four Monrovia High School (MHS) robotics teams will advance to the Inter-League Competition. The Kings and Queens, Suit Bots, Team Loki and Graveyard Shift will all advance to the Regional Meet that will also be held at MHS on March 9, lasting all day.

The Kings and Queens went into the finals in the top ranked alliance along with Clifton Middle School’s Team Hippiebots (seeded No. 1). Team Loki and Suit Bots on the second ranked alliance along with the ladies from Marlborough School (there are three teams on each alliance).

The winner of the meet was the second alliance, meaning both Suit Bots and Team Loki go to the finals along with The Kings and Queens who won the Inspire Award that is given to the event’s top robotics team. The Suit Bots won the Innovative Award with the Graveyard Shift achieving the Think Award for the best notebook.

The teams from MHS did well with the judges in other areas as well, receiving nominations for other awards. Kings and Queens were nominated for Connect, Innovate and Motivate awards. The Suit Bots were nominated for the Inspire, Control and Design awards. Graveyard was nominated for the Connect Award.
