On Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, an Officer Involved Shooting occurred in the 1900 block of Raymond Avenue in Pasadena. No officers were injured during this incident and the suspect was not hit by gunfire. The critical incident community briefing is based upon a preliminary review of what occurred, which continues to be investigated. Additional facts, beyond what is known, may be discovered as additional evidence is located and reviewed. The Pasadena Police Department conducts thorough Use of Force investigations, which includes interviewing witnesses, officers involved, analyzing video evidence, forensic evidence, and statements from those involved in the chain of events. After the investigation is completed, a Use of Force Hearing will be convened and the Police Chief will make a final determination if the officers involved acted within department policy. This process may take up to one year to complete.
