According to City Manager Oliver Chi in his weekly update this week, the count is in from the homeless census taken last week and the numbers in Monrovia appear to have held fairly constant.  At first glance the number of individuals seems to have jumped substantially from 9 in 2018 to 18 this year, but Chi points out that year it was “brutally cold” during the count and this may have depressed the numbers.

However he did note that there was a large drop in the number of individuals living in RVs: 14 this year as compared to 33 last year.

The following table shows the results over the past 3 years:

The numbers for this year are only preliminary. The complete report will be submitted in May from the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority.
