During the past few weeks, Monrovia city staff has been in discussions with Chuck Keene and the American Legion about their suggestion to install up to four Wounded Warrior Veteran parking spaces in Old Town. The proposed parking spaces would be marked with special signage and would involving painting the parking space in purple.
To date, city staff has identified general locations for the proposed parking spaces to include one on Palm Avenue (between the Community Center and the Library), one of Lime Avenue (between the Library and the Lime Parking Lot), in front of City Hall, and somewhere on the 400 block of Myrtle Avenue. These are preliminary suggested parking locations for the initiative, and the city plans on discussing the matter in greater detail with Monrovia Old Town Advisory Board (MOTAB) to identify any merchant and Old Town related concerns.

Once the issue has been fully vetted, the matter will be discussed in greater detail with the City Council, and then city staff will look to roll the improvements out at some point in the early part of this year.
