City Manager Oliver Chi added an important notification in his City Manager’s Update this week: he reassured residents that they would receive notice well in advance of construction work. According to Chi, “Notices will be distributed to residents and business owners in the areas when work will take place.”
He went on to explain that the companies with whom the city contracted to work on Monrovia Renewal would distribute notices on a specific schedule:
- There will be an initial notice to all residents and businesses in the construction area.
- There will then be a five day notice delivered to the areas directly impacted by work. As the name implies, these will be given five days prior to the work commencing. The notice will describe the work taking place and will outline the schedule and provide information on the impact of the work including parking restrictions or driveway access.
- There will also be a two day notice, the final notice that will be given (no surprise here) two days before the activity will begin to remind those impacted of the planned work.
- There will also be posted notices regarding parking restrictions so that non-residents will also be aware of the situation.
