There are still several holiday events taking place in Old Town Monrovia in the next few weeks. For example, this Friday there will be a Holiday sing-along for, as City Manager Oliver Chi noted, “Carolers young and old, musically gifted and tone-deaf! All are welcome!”

The city manager also suggested that holiday revelers come for the tunes and then stay to shop and possibly find some dessert. The sing-along will be in the 400 block of Myrtle Avenue, this Friday, Dec. 14 starting at 8:15 p.m.

There are also the horse-drawn wagon rides in Old Town on Thursdays and Sunday. They will be held on, Thursday, Dec. 13 and next Thursday Dec. 20 from 5 to 8 p.m. On Sunday, Dec. 16, the wagon will roll from 3-6 p.m. The cost is just $5 per person and rides are on a on a first come, first serve basis.

On Saturday, Dec. 15 and 22, there will be free kids crafts on Myrtle Avenue. This kids’ crafts site will be in the 400 block of Myrtle Avenue.

Of course the Monrovia Library is also holding special happenings for the holidays. Don’t forget the Harry Potter inspired Yule Ball this Saturday from noon to five. Remember to wear your best Hogwarts attire. Also this Saturday, Dec. 15 there will be gingerbread house decorating in the Library Community Room from 2-3 p.m. There will be a movie night on Monday, Dec. 17 that 6 p.m. On Wednesday, Dec. 19 there will be a holiday dessert decorating challenge for students grades sixth-12th, also in the Community Room at the Library.
