Mark your calendars for Saturday, Oct. 27 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. for the first annual Downtown Arcadia Halloween Harvest Festival. Happening on First Avenue between Huntington and California, the street will be transformed into the scariest most “costumiest” harvest festival around. There will be trick-or-treating. There will be Halloween costume events. There will be live music and entertainment. There will be artisanal craft vendors. There will be beer and wine from Vendome Wine & Spirits and Mt. Lowe Brewing Co. There will be over a dozen food vendors and trucks. There will be fabulous raffle prizes, giant bubbles, free face painting, free pony rides and in a rare off-season appearance there will be Santa Claus himself telling scary Halloween stories.

The event kicks off at 11 a.m. with food, craft vendors, and booth exhibitors open for business and First Avenue Middle School Rock Band on stage. At 11:40 a.m., Balloon Time with Mr. Fun will take the stage to demonstrate how to make fun balloon animals, followed by the Verdugo Hills Chorus performing at noon, and then Halloween Stories with Santa begins at 12:40 p.m. From 1-2 p.m. musicians from the Arcadia Neighborhood Music School perform on stage to be followed by a stage show from the upcoming Moonlight Forest Magical Lantern Festival at the Los Angeles County Arboretum, and then a magic show with magician Stephen Wood starting at 2:45 p.m.

At 4 p.m., the Downtown Arcadia Costume Parade begins. The Downtown Arcadia Improvement Association will be raffling off three bikes from Helen’s Cycles to costumed participants, one for each age category of 0-5 years, 6-11 years and 12-18 years. The first 100 costumed participants also receive free Halloween treats courtesy of Embassy Suites.  The costume parade also includes a pet costume category and raffle, so be sure to bring along your costumed four legged friends for a chance to win.

The festival then concludes with the Downtown Arcadia big give-away raffle at 4:45 p.m.  Enter at ArcadiaDT.com for a chance to win fabulous prizes including an Escape Room Mystery event package for eight people, an annual bronze circle membership to the Arcadia Performing Arts Center, a See Jack Play party package basket (valued at over $585), Los Angeles Clippers tickets courtesy of Remax, a one night stay at Arcadia Embassy Suites and an assortment of gift cards from great local restaurants and businesses. Winners will be chosen at random and you must be present to win. We look forward to seeing you there on Saturday Oct. 27 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. for great food, fun, costumes, prizes, photo ops and festivities.
