Assistance from the public requested

The Pasadena Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in locating a vehicle and driver involved in a fatal hit and run collision.

On Sunday, Oct. 21 at about 7:20 p.m., Police and Fire Department personnel responded to the 1100 block of North Fair Oaks Avenue regarding a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, a 27 year-old woman was found unresponsive suffering from major injuries. Fire Department personnel were unable to revive the woman, and she was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the woman, a Pasadena resident, was crossing Fair Oaks Avenue north of Claremont Street when she was struck by a white sport utility vehicle (SUV) travelling north on Fair Oaks Avenue. The SUV and its driver fled the collision scene east on Washington Boulevard from Fair Oaks Avenue.

Identification of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family. The white SUV sustained front end damage that should be readily visible.
