Arcadia Crime Blotters: Oct. 14 – Oct. 20

Oct. 14

Shortly before 2:42 a.m. an officer responded to the intersection of Santa Anita Avenue and Duarte Road regarding the activation of an Arcadia Police Department GPS tracker. Arcadia PD detectives had previously deployed bait packages to combat the increase in package thefts from residential areas. An investigation revealed two suspects had the stolen bait package in their vehicle. A 32-year-old male from Baldwin Park and a 33­-year-old female from Baldwin Park were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

At approximately 11:18 a.m. an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front counter regarding a vehicle burglary that occurred in the 600 block of West Huntington Drive the previous day. The officer discovered an unknown suspect entered the unlocked vehicle and stole the victim’s wallet, $2,800 cash, and credit cards. The suspect then used the victim’s credit card at a nearby Carl’s Jr. The investigation is ongoing.

Oct. 15

Just after 1:21 p.m. officers responded to a residence in the 2400 block of South Sixth Avenue regarding a residential burglary report. The victim witnessed two suspects in his backyard attempting to enter his home. The suspects were scared off and fled on foot. They are described as black males, 18 to 21-years-old, approximately 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall, thin builds, and both were seen wearing hooded sweatshirts. The investigation is ongoing.

At approximately 10:17 p.m. an officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of Hacienda Drive regarding a residential burglary report. An investigation revealed unknown suspects smashed a rear window and ransacked the second floor. A locked safe inside a locked closet was found pried open. The reported loss is jewelry, cash, and a passport. The investigation is ongoing.

Oct. 16

Around 12:36 p.m. officers responded to Victoria’s Secret, 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a grand theft report. Witnesses stated a female suspect stole $2,600 worth of merchandise and was seen fleeing in a Mercedes Benz sedan. Officers located the vehicle on the 210 Freeway and conducted an enforcement stop. The driver, a 23-year-old female from North Las Vegas, was identified as the suspect who committed the theft. The suspect also had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for her arrest. She was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Just before 7:17 p.m., an officer responded to Matt Denny’s Alehouse, 145 E. Huntington Drive, regarding a commercial burglary report. The officer determined an unknown suspect forced open the rear patio gate and stole an electric scooter. The investigation is ongoing.

Oct. 17

At about 1:10 a.m. an officer responded to the 100 block of East Huntington Drive regarding a stolen vehicle report. Sometime during the previous night, unknown suspect(s) stole the victim’s 2011 BMW SUV from the parking lot across from Matt Denny’s. The investigation is ongoing.

Shortly after 11:10 a.m. an officer responded to a residence in the 1700 block of Louise Avenue regarding a domestic violence assault report. The victim, an elderly female, stated her elderly husband whipped the backside of her neck with a towel, leaving a visible red mark. The investigation is ongoing.

Before 10:23 p.m. officers responded to Pizza Hut, 121 E. Foothill Blvd., regarding a robbery that had just occurred. Two male suspects entered the store, brandished a handgun, and stole approximately $150 from the cash register. A third suspect was seen outside acting as a lookout.

The suspects are described as black males, 20 to 30-years-old, 5-foot-9 to 6 feet tall, and all were seen wearing hooded sweatshirts. The investigation is ongoing

Oct. 18 

Around 10:07 a.m. an officer responded to the 00 block of East Huntington Drive regarding a drunkenness report. The officer located the 23-year-old male from Arcadia and discovered he was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and unable to care for himself. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Oct. 19

At about 10:55 a.m. an officer responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Fallen Leaf Road regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed an altercation ensued between two brothers resulting in one brother pushing and grabbing the other. The suspect, a 51-­year-old male from Arcadia, was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Just before 1:51 p.m. an officer responded to the front counter of the Arcadia Police Department regarding a grand theft report. An investigation revealed an unknown suspect operating under the guise of a potential employer scammed the victim out of $3,450.30. The investigation is ongoing.

Oct. 20

Shortly after 8 a.m. officers responded to the 300 block of West Duarte Road regarding the activation of an Arcadia Police Department GPS tracker. The suspect was located nearby and was in possession of the stolen package and contents. The 60-year-old male from Sherman Oaks was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. an officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of La Sierra Drive regarding a mail theft report. The officer discovered an unknown suspect forced entry into a locked mailbox sometime during the previous three days. The investigation is ongoing.
