On Sept. 30 at about 7:04 p.m., Pasadena Police officers responded to a call of a robbery that had just occurred in the jewelry department of Macy’s Department Store on 401 S. Lake Ave.

Officers arrived on scene within minutes; however the suspect was already gone. An immediate search of the area for the suspect was conducted, but he was not located.

The adult suspect in this case approached the sales representative at the jewelry counter and selected several pieces of jewelry as if he was going to make a purchase. As the items were being scanned for purchase, the suspect produced a silver colored handgun. He pointed the handgun at the victim and demanded the items be placed in a black bag already in his possession. The victim complied out of fear, and once the items were in the suspect’s possession, he walked out of the store and left in an unknown direction. It is unclear at this time if a vehicle was involved in the getaway or if there were other suspects. The loss is estimated at approximately $6,000 for the various items. Video footage from the store was collected as evidence.

The suspect is described as a male African-American, possibly in his 20s, approximately 5-feet-10, weighing approximately 155 pounds, black colored hair in a bun style, wearing at the time of the incident a white and pink striped shirt and a red bandana on his head.

The investigation is ongoing and Pasadena PD is asking for the public’s assistance in efforts to identify the suspect responsible for the armed robbery.
