One Man Dead in Rose Bowl Stabbing Incident
On Monday, at approximately 10:08 p.m., Pasadena Police officers responded to parking lot K of the Rose Bowl regarding a report of a stabbing victim on the ground. Upon arrival, officers located the victim in the parking lot suffering from two stab wounds. Pasadena Paramedics responded to render medical aid, however, the victim had succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Officers immediately contained the scene and canvassed for witnesses.
Pasadena Police detectives responded and assumed the investigation. Preliminary investigation suggests the incident was not random in nature, as the victim was involved in a physical altercation with the suspect.
The victim has been identified as Demetrio Tapia II, a 22-year-old Hispanic male of Pasadena.
The motive for the physical encounter between the victim and suspect is unclear as the investigation is ongoing.
