Sierra Madre Civic Club is again sponsoring the annual Halloween Window Painting Contest, which is open to youth ages nine to 17. Registration forms can be downloaded from the Sierra Madre Civic Club website. The deadline for submitting your application and proposed drawing is Oct. 11 at 5 p.m. at Sierra Madre City Hall located at 232 W. Sierra Madre Blvd.

Each application requires two to four participants comprised of the same age group. At least one participant must be a Sierra Madre resident. Groups will be divided by age: nine – 10, 11 – 12, 13 – 14, and 15 – 17 years old. The registration form must be submitted with a drawing of the proposed window painting. Drawings should be kept in “good taste.” The club will not accept gory or politically motivated drawings.

On the day of the event, Sierra Madre Civic Club members will distribute paint in Kersting Court an on the sidewalk adjacent to City Hall. Only the paint provided may be used on windows. Participants are responsible for bringing large paper or plastic cups for paint containers, paintbrushes, drop cloths, wash cloths, bar soap to outline the drawing, stepladders, and other necessary supplies.

Teams are to check in with Sierra Madre Civic Club members at Kersting Court to receive their window assignment on Friday, Oct. 26 from 2:30 to 6 p.m. Judging will take place on Saturday Oct. 27 from 10 a.m. to noon. All awards will be announced at noon in Kersting Court after the judging.
