Pasadena Man Stabs Mother to Death

The Pasadena Police Department received a call from a man stating he killed his mother in the 1100 block of North Mentor Avenue Monday, Sept. 24 at approximately 9:16 p.m.

The suspect, Alex Evans, was arrested and transported to the Pasadena city jail where he was booked for murder under California Penal Code Section 187.

Pasadena Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.  The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office responded for the decedent.

The victim’s name is being withheld until next of kin has been notified.  The victim is an adult female in her 60’s.

The police dispatch kept the suspect on the line while officers responded to the scene.  Upon arrival, officers ordered the suspect out of the house.  The suspect surrendered to officers without incident.  Officers located a victim inside the residence, suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The motive for this murder remains under investigation by Pasadena Police detectives.
