How Can You Help the Arcadia Educational Foundation?
The Arcadia Educational Foundation (AEF) is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1981 in response to substantially reduced federal and state funding for California public schools. The AEF’s purpose is to raise funds for the Arcadia Unified School District. The Foundation is administered by parent and community member trustees who represent the interests of each of Arcadia’s 10 public schools.
AEF runs the annual summer school program and offers $25,000 in teacher grants each year. It also funds the District-wide phone and text communication system so that school officials can communicate with parents in a timely and convenient manner. In recent years AEF has also funded teacher positions due to state-wide budget cuts.
AEF is interested in your opinions and has an AEF Donor Survey you can take. You can also help AEF raise money for Arcadia schools by shopping on Amazon through AEF’s Amazon affiliate program. A percentage of your Amazon purchases will go to AEF simply by clicking on the amazon logo on their website.
AEF has helped to ensure, through its fundraising efforts like this affiliate program, that the Arcadia Unified School District is among the finest in the state of California. The Foundation is currently seeking to enlist new trustees from the Arcadia community.
Participation as a trustee is open to Arcadia Unified School District-area residents.
The primary responsibility of a trustee is to implement the fundraising activities of the Foundation. Trustees are also expected to attend monthly board meetings, represent the Foundation in the community, and actively participate on a committee.
Any resident who would like to be considered for a trustee position should contact the Foundation at (626) 447-2165 and leave details for the secretary to contact you.
