Restaurants in Downtown Arcadia will be going mobile on Monday, Sept. 24 to participate in the 2018 Taste of Arcadia at the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden.  Each year the Taste brings amazing food and drink samples from 45 of the best restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley. This year’s event will include Downtown Arcadia favorites Matt Denny’s, Claro’s Italian Market, Mt. Lowe Brewery, Vendome Wine & Spirits, and Villa Catrina.

Matt Denny’s Alehouse Restaurant will be making their ninth straight appearance at the Taste serving their famous Tri-Tip and Pulled Pork. Always a crowd favorite, they’ll also be pouring from a selection of their best beers on tap. Long Nguyen, new owner of Matt Denny’s, will be making his first appearance at the Taste so stop by and say hello while grabbing some great food and drink.

Claro’s Italian Market, a staple of Arcadia since 1948, makes their first appearance at the Taste bringing their delicious Italian marinated mushrooms and authentic Italian pasta salads. Claro’s pride themselves on bringing classic Italian food and grocery items to their customers with friendly, personalized service. Stop by their booth in restaurant row where Kara Brown will dish out yummy tastes that harken back to the traditional Italian market.

Villa Catrina returns to the Taste for their fourth consecutive year with samples of their delicious chicken mole with nopales and pork tacos. Owner Joe Jimenez will be there to serve out their delicious traditional Mexican cuisine. As last year’s winner for Best Savory Dish, Villa Catrina is a booth not to be missed.

Mt. Lowe Brewing Company, one of the hottest new spots in Arcadia, will be back at the Taste for their second year in a row. Mt. Lowe opened in Downtown Arcadia in November 2016 and has quickly become a destination attraction with their fun community atmosphere and industrial gastropub vibe. Stop by the Taste’s beer garden to sample some of their amazing craft beers poured by owners Mike Reiling, Shawn Nemanich and the rest of the Mt. Lowe crew.

Speaking of great drinks, Vendome Wine & Spirits is back for their second appearance with pours from their incredible curated selection of wines. Vendome, conveniently located near the Arcadia Gold Line Station, provides a one stop shop for the best in beer, wine, spirits, and weekly tasting events plus an in-store beer and wine bar. Vendome owner Charles Tran and General Manager Jeff Musial will be at the event to pour samples and provide their expert knowledge of fine wines.

Finally, after you’ve had your fill of food and drink, stop by the business showcase section of the Taste for great promotional offers from local businesses. The Downtown Arcadia Improvement Association will also be present this year with information on what’s new in Downtown Arcadia, promotional giveaways, and more. We look forward to seeing you on Monday, Sept. 24 for the 2018 Taste of Arcadia. For more information and to buy tickets, go to tasteofarcadia.com.
