Arcadia Crime Blotters: Sept. 2 – Sept. 8
Sept. 2
Shortly before 12:52 a.m., an officer responded to Gate 6 of the Santa Anita Race Track, 285 W. Huntington Drive, regarding a traffic accident. An investigation revealed a traffic collision occurred between the suspect vehicle and a parked vehicle. A male and female were located nearby and determined to be responsible for the collision. Both suspects were intoxicated in public. A 29-year-old male from Pasadena and a 29-year-old female from Pasadena were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At approximately 2:04 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 00 block of West Sandra Avenue regarding a burglary report. The home is under construction and an unknown suspect entered the residence and fled with power tools. The investigation is ongoing.
Just after 6:39 p.m., an officer responded to the 2500 block of South Sixth Avenue regarding the activation of an Arcadia Police Department GPS tracker. Arcadia PD detectives had previously deployed bait packages to combat the increase in package thefts from residential areas. The officer determined a 38-year-old male from Duarte was in possession of the stolen package and contents, valued at $1,634. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Sept. 3
At approximately 6:25 a.m., an officer responded to the 1000 block of Arcadia Avenue regarding a vehicle burglary report. The officer discovered an unknown suspect smashed two windows of the vehicle and stole the victim’s wallet and various power tools. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
Around 11:58 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 600 block of South Old Ranch Road regarding a fraud report. The officer determined the unknown suspect attempted to file a fraudulent tax return using the victim’s personal information. The investigation is ongoing.
Sept. 4
Just before 6:56 a.m., officers responded to Pampered Nails, 73 E. Foothill Blvd., regarding a burglary report. An investigation revealed unknown suspects smashed the front glass door and fled with hair clippers, nail polish, and a laptop. The investigation is ongoing.
Sept. 5
At about 6:52 a.m., an officer conducted a record check of a vehicle parked in the Motel 6 parking lot, 225 Colorado Place, for having fraudulent registration tags. A record check of the owner and acquaintances revealed the vehicle’s owner, a 31-year-old female from Bakersfield, had two outstanding felony warrants, one misdemeanor warrant, and the officer discovered she was in possession of drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance. A 34-year-old female from Bakersfield was also arrested for two misdemeanor warrants and a 29-year-old female from Bakersfield was arrested for two felony warrants and a misdemeanor warrant. All three were transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Shortly after 12:31 p.m., an officer responded to Victoria’s Secret, 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a shoplifting report. Surveillance footage revealed a female suspect concealed more than $1,700 worth of merchandise in a shopping bag before exiting the store, failing to make payment. The suspect is described as a black female, approximately 5-feet 9-inches, in her 30s, heavy set, wearing a black and white striped long dress with white sandals. The investigation is ongoing.
Sept. 6
Before 12:19 a.m., officers initiated an enforcement stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Live Oak Avenue and Sixth Avenue for swerving. Through a series of tests, the officers discovered the suspect was driving with a blood alcohol content of .16%. The 25-year-old male from Temple City was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Around 3:28 p.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Oxford Drive and North Baldwin Avenue regarding a disturbance report. The officer discovered an argument occurred between a couple resulting in the male suspect scratching the female victim. The 24-year-old from Duarte was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Sept. 7
At about 12:12 a.m., an officer responded to the 1200 block of South Golden West Avenue regarding the activation of an Arcadia Police Department GPS tracker. Arcadia PD detectives had previously deployed decoy bicycles with tracking devices to combat the increase in bike thefts throughout the city. An investigation revealed a 31-year-old male from Templeton was in possession of the stolen bicycle, GPS tracker, burglary tools, and a controlled substance. A records check revealed the suspect also had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants and one outstanding felony warrant. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Just before 5:18 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of Santa Maria Road regarding a burglary report. The officer determined an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle, used the garage opener to open the garage, entered the home, and stole the victim’s keys and wallet. The suspect then stole the victim’s vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
Sept. 8
Shortly after 1:27 a.m., officers responded to the 1600 block of South Baldwin Avenue regarding a traffic collision. Upon contacting the driver, the officers detected a strong odor of alcohol and determined she was under the influence. The 38-year-old female from Pomona was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At approximately 12:12 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 600 block of West Naomi Avenue regarding a mail theft report. The reporting party discovered several mailboxes from a multi-unit apartment complex had been forced open and an unknown amount of mail was assumed to be missing. The investigation is ongoing.
