A homeless individual, who resides in Monrovia, was recently placed into permanent housing thanks to efforts of city staff. During the past year, representatives from Community Activist Policing Bureau and the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) have been working with this individual to try and help transition him from a lifestyle of living on the streets into a permanent and stable housing situation.

During that time, there were a number of challenges that this individual had to overcome, and working together, these institutions were able to connect him with the proper programs and organizations.

Ultimately, through those efforts and a lot of hard work on his part, he positioned himself to be eligible for a permanent housing solution, and earlier this month, it all came together. He was accepted into a permanent home, and prior to leaving Monrovia, he was overcome with emotion and thanked the staff for the help that he received. This is just a terrific story about how the system can work.
