Digital storytelling workshop
Do you have a story about living in Arcadia or about the issues folks face in the community? About what it was like back in the day? About ways you have seen the community change? This is your opportunity to share your story and learn the basics of digital storytelling in order to turn your story into a two to four minute video.
Arcadia Public Library is hosting a two-day workshop on telling your stories and recording them digitally on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 21 and 22, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This workshop is part of California Listens, a multi-year program at select public libraries throughout the state sponsored by the California State Library. The workshop will be led by Berkeley’s StoryCenter, the inventors of the Digital Storytelling method now used by schools and community organizations around the world. Participants will make their own short video of their story on a computer. The stories will then be shared in a presentation in the fall at the Arcadia Public Library, and will become part of a state archive of stories about what it means to be Californian.
Space for this unique workshop is limited. Sign up at storycenter.org/arcadia.
