Aug. 19

Just after 3:30 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the rear of a business in the 1000 block of Baldwin Avenue regarding a subject seen sleeping on the ground. An investigation revealed the subject was in possession of methamphetamine, burglary tools, a stolen bicycle and stolen vehicle registration paperwork. The 27-year-old male from Sun Valley was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

At approximately 7:20 p.m., an officer contacted a subject on a bicycle while patrolling the area of Third Avenue and Duarte Road. An investigation revealed the subject was in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The 31-year-old male from Monrovia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Aug. 20

Just before 4:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Holly Avenue regarding an activation of an Arcadia Police Department GPS tracker. Arcadia PD detectives had previously deployed decoy packages containing bait property and tracking devices to combat the increase in package thefts from residential areas. Officers tracked the device to a moving vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. An investigation revealed a 37-year-old male from Baldwin Park was in possession of the stolen package. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Just after 6 p.m., officers responded to the parking lot of LA Fitness, 748 W. Naomi Ave., regarding a vehicle burglary that had just occurred. The suspect was seen using a hand tool to open the rear passenger side door of the vehicle. The suspect, a 61-year-old male from Glendale, was located, arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Aug. 21

At about 6:30 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of East Duarte Road regarding a subject armed with a knife threatening his roommates. An investigation revealed the subject had been holding them against their will for approximately 90 minutes before one victim was able escape and call for help. The subject cut two of his roommates with a butcher knife. The 30-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Just before midnight, officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of West Camino Real Avenue regarding a burglary alarm activation. An investigation revealed unknown suspect(s) entered the home by smashing a rear glass door. The suspect(s) ransacked the residence and fled undetected. The property loss could not be determined at the time of the report due to the residents being out of the country. The investigation is ongoing.

Aug. 22

After 2 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Las Tunas Drive regarding a burglary report. The victim returned home and saw his front door left open. An investigation revealed unknown suspect(s) had smashed the rear sliding glass door, stole porcelain antiques and fled undetected. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.

At around 3 p.m., an officer responded to the front counter of the Arcadia Police Department regarding the report of a stolen vehicle. The victim stated that at about 6 p.m. the prior evening, she left her vehicle parked in the parking lot near JC Penney at Westfield Santa Anita, located at 400 S. Baldwin Ave. While inside the mall, the victim lost her purse which contained her car keys. The victim returned with her spare key and discovered her vehicle was nowhere to be found. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.

Aug. 23

At approximately 6:45 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the Arcadia Public Library, 20 W. Duarte Road, regarding a report of vandalism.  An employee arrived for work and noticed the cable on the flagpole had been cut and the flags were on the ground. The investigation is ongoing.

Just after 10:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of East Live Oak Avenue regarding a disturbance. A subject was contacted and an investigation revealed he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The 23-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Aug. 24

Just after 6 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Balboa Drive regarding a female subject passed out inside a vehicle. An investigation revealed the subject was in possession of methamphetamine, heroin, drug paraphernalia, burglary tools and stolen mail. She also had four outstanding warrants for her arrest. The 33-year-old female from Pasadena was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Aug. 25

At around 4 a.m., officers responded to the area of Varus Street and Goldring Road regarding a vehicle fire. Officers confirmed there were no occupants inside the vehicle and Arcadia Fire Fighters arrived to extinguish the flames. An investigation revealed the vehicle had been stolen. The investigation is ongoing.

Just before 11 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the parking structure of 24 Hour Fitness, 125 N. First Ave., regarding the report of two vehicle burglaries. The officer discovered an unknown suspect(s) smashed the rear right passenger windows of two vehicles. The suspect(s) stole a diaper bag and wallet from one vehicle and a purse from the other vehicle. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.

At around 9:30 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Genoa Street regarding a domestic dispute. An intoxicated husband and his wife were arguing when the husband slapped his wife across her face causing her to fall to the ground. The 60-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
