The big box stores such as Home Depot and, of course, Amazon had a huge impact on the company’s decision to shutter the popular stores.

Orchard Supply Hardware stores nationwide will permanently close by the end of this year. Officials say liquidation will begin Thursday.

There are nearly 100 stores in California, along with 4,000 employees.

Orchard Supply is owned by Lowe’s.

“While it was a necessary business decision to exit Orchard Supply Hardware, decisions that impact our people are never easy,” said Lowe’s CEO. Pasadena Orchard Hardware store is located at 3425. E Colorado Blvd. The Monrovia store is on Huntington. These two local stores will be impacted.
