Planned Parenthood Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley (PPPSGV) announces that its annual Fall Benefit will take place on Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Langham Huntington Hotel. The event begins at 6:30 p.m.

A PPPSGV tradition since the 1960s, the Fall Benefit is the organization’s signature fundraiser and welcomes 400 of the region’s top philanthropists and community leaders each year. This year marks the organization’s 85th anniversary. The Fall Benefit will be a celebration of PPPSGV’s long standing dedication to Pasadena and its surrounding communities. The main purpose of the event is to raise essential funds to support PPPSGV’s four health centers located in Pasadena, Eagle Rock, Alhambra, and Glendora. Each year, PPPSGV sees more than 60,000 patient visits, and provides 11,000 opportunities for sex and relationship education local schools and colleges. For 24 communities in Northeast Los Angeles and the greater SGV, PPPSGV is the most trusted, sought-after provider of comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care, particularly for patients who are young, low-income, and/or uninsured.

Joan C. Caillouette, former board member and long-time volunteer, will be serving her eighth consecutive year as patron chair. Joining her as the Event Co-Chairs are Board Member Stephanie McLemore and supporter Stephanie Dencik. The patron committee members are Debra and David Beadle, Annie Brose, Judith Brown, Colleen Carey, Ceinwyn Clark, Sally De Witt, Kathy and Bob Gillespie, Fiona Harwich, Samantha Levra, Bonner Meudell, Carlin and David McCarthy, Jennifer McNulty, Anne Peterson, Dave Quast, Gretchen Seager, Juliana Serrano, Sonia Astrid Solin, Nick and Karen Taylor, Deborah Williams, and Yvonne Zaro. Now more than ever, it is critical to stand with Planned Parenthood and help protect the critical services that the organization provides to millions of people across the country and tens of thousands right here in Northeast LA and the SGV.  All people should have access to reproductive services, no matter what their income, race or gender.

This year’s Fall Benefit will feature emcee Cristela Alonzo and speaker Dr. Leah Torres. Ms. Alonzo was the first Latina to create, produce, and star in her own network sitcom, “Cristela.” She was also one of ABC’s favorite guest hosts on their daytime talk show, “The View.” Dr. Leah Torres is an OB/GYN based in Salt Lake City. In addition to her generalist practice, she has built an online social media following primarily on her discussions surrounding abortion care. Dr. Torres works tirelessly to dispel myths about abortion and reproductive health, frequently engaging with people who hold opposing viewpoints and focusing on sharing scientific facts.

Major Fall Benefit corporate sponsors this year include: ClarkLiving, Gluck Building Company, Huntington Hospital, and Kaiser Permanente.

Ticket and patron packages and sponsorship opportunities are still available, with individual tickets starting at $300. To buy tickets, please visit weareplannedparenthood.org or contact Angela Shen at ashen@pppsgv.org.
