The Pacific League has gotten all the more competitive over the summer as the Pasadena and Muir football teams are ready make a big run for the league title this season.
The Bulldogs and Mustangs are hungry to put themselves on the radar in a tough Pacific League that includes defending champ Burbank, No. 4 ranked Arcadia, and Crescenta Valley.
Muir did finish fourth last season with a 4-3 record, but it was not enough to qualify them for the playoffs. On the other hand, Pasadena did not enjoy the same success as they finished sixth with a 2-7 record.
The last time either program made the CIF playoffs was when Muir qualified during the 2016 season. However, the Mustangs were quickly knocked out in the first round by Antelope Valley.
Pasadena will kick off the season with a road game against San Marino this Friday while Muir will play their entire two-game preseason on the road starting with a game against Charter Oak. Pacific League action will begin on Oct. 5 for both squads as Pasadena takes on Hoover on the road while Muir hosts Burroughs.
