Have you had the opportunity to stop by the Edmund Blinn House for a cup of tea? Haven’t you heard of all the new and fabulous things the Women’s City Club of Pasadena (WCC) is doing for the local community? What may begin as a social gathering with members from your local community, may also be the start of discovering something about yourself you didn’t know (like being able to craft a jewelry piece within minutes), becoming part of a new friendship, or identifying that you want to delve deeper into how to get to know your local community in a safe a fun environment. The WCC recently hosted an amazing seasonal Pearls & Polka Dots Summertime Tea event. A perfect “opportuni-TEA” to be able to unwind and have fun. However, it may not be surprising to learn that at the Blinn house finding yourself in hot water is a good thing.

The Pearls and Polka Dots Summertime Tea was an incredible event. The tea was presented by Lawrence Charles, founder of Charles & Company an organic and kosher tea brand. Featuring one of the company’s special-teas, the Creamy Earl Grey is a black tea with organic bergamot oil, organic cornflowers, and a vanilla bean essence. Lawrence also featured a fresh raspberry lemonade iced tea that was perfect for the occasion. The WCC also included tea sandwiches to accompany your choice of brew. You had the option of tasting savory bites such as apricot chicken salad, saffron curried egg or smoked salmon, and cucumber sandwiches to complement your cup of tea. There was also delightful Key lime mini cakes and orange cranberry scones just to name a few.

The fun did not end with tasting rich tea and enjoying delicious food. The WCC also featured a jewelry craft table with fashion designer Corrie Osuna. You had everything you needed to create a one of a kind bracelet, a statement piece necklace, or a couple of dainty earrings. This interactive activity was fun and everyone had the opportunity to explore their creative side. It was easy to compose a beautiful jewelry piece when you had the assistance of not only a professional but also everyone else participating, helping you create the perfect accessory.
