Through Arcadia Unified School District’s (AUSD) Digital Communications Internship (DCI) program, the district has been fortunate to partner with USC’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism and its Youth Academy (AYA) summer program.

The past two summers, four Arcadia High School students were accepted into this prestigious program at USC. You can see them in the video titled “Creating Leaders in our Neighborhood: The USC Annenberg Youth Academy” on the USC Annenberg YouTube channel. Michael Tseng, a former AHS student and Arcadia Weekly contributor, is featured as he will be attending USC in the fall and participated in AYA in the summer of 2017.

This intensive four-week summer program exposes high school students to college-level work with courses covering the gamut of communications from journalism, public relations, civic engagement, and much more. AYA also brings together a diverse cross-section of students from the Los Angeles area to grow with and learn from one another.
Applications for AUSD’s DCI fall semester will be open soon. For more information, please visit ausddci.blogspot.com.
