Summer is in full swing and now’s the time to get out and enjoy the warm evening weather. With so many options in L.A., it’s sometimes easy to overlook what’s right in our own backyard. So with that in mind, here are some great nightlife options to experience this summer in Downtown Arcadia.

Stop by the Arcadia Blues Club for live music performances every Friday and Saturday night. The restaurant and bar are open 7 p.m. – 2 a.m. with live music from 8 p.m. to close. The owner and house musician Bobby Bluehouse has been in the business for over 30 years and recruits some of the best blues musicians in the industry to his club. Matt Denny’s Alehouse Restaurant also features live music on Friday and Saturday nights on their outdoor patio. Matt Denny’s bar and kitchen are open Thursday – Saturday until 10 p.m. and Sunday – Wednesday until 9 p.m. Mt. Lowe Brewing Company is another great option for summer nightlife and beer. Open until 10 p.m. on weeknights, and midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, they host a rotating selection of evening food trucks, a Wednesday trivia night, Beer & Bingo Sundays, and other fun events throughout the summer.

If you’re looking for fine wine and spirits to go with your beer, stop by Vendome Wine & Spirits weeknights until 10 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays until 11 p.m. They have a fantastic beer and wine bar plus a huge retail selection of spirits. Also check out their monthly calendar for weekly wine and spirits tastings.

Right next door to Vendome, a new entertainment business Escape Room Mystery has just opened their doors. Setup an evening of mystery and fun. Escape Room Myster is open weekdays from 6 – 9 p.m. and weekends noon – 9 p.m.

Robusto Cigars on First Avenue is another great spot to check out this summer; open Monday – Thursday until 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday nights until 9:30 p.m. Stop in to purchase premium cigars and hang out in their state of the art ventilated smoking room.  The owner Sam has been in the cigar business for over 20 years and welcomes everyone from the cigar novice to the most seasoned aficionado.

Looking for no frills nightlife options? First Cabin on Huntington Drive is unapologetically one of L.A.’s finest dive bars. Open seven days a week until 2 a.m. and featuring live music on weekends. Ditto for the Drinker’s Hall of Fame also open daily until 2 a.m. and featuring karaoke, billiards, a full bar, and strong drinks.

For some late night eats, stop by the Boiling Point on First Avenue until 11 p.m. daily. Another great late-night option is Hot n Sweet Chicken on Huntington Drive open Friday and Saturday until midnight and serving Korean inspired American classics along with a selection of beer, wine, and Soju drinks. Finally, for fine dining and skillfully crafted libations in an upscale setting, The Derby restaurant is a Downtown Arcadia classic.  Featuring the George Woolf cocktail lounge, they’re open until 10 p.m. on weeknights and 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
