Rotary Club of Pasadena Honors Teachers of Excellence at Awards Luncheon
Teachers honored for their excellence
Five outstanding teachers in the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) were recognized and honored for their excellence in teaching at the Pasadena Rotary Club luncheon on May 23. Each teacher received a check for $1,500, and their schools $500.
The teachers were nominated by their school principals. Twenty-two nominations were submitted, and, after careful evaluation and classroom visits, the five were selected.
They are:
-William Richard Boling, Marshall Fundamental School, AP Macroeconomics/AP Government/AP English
-Ann Chambers Palmer, Jefferson Elementary, third grade
-Jennifer Pringle, Rose City High, English, ELD, Journalism
-Manuel Rustin, John Muir High, various Social Science subjects; history
-Donna Shepard, Focus Point Academy, Special education
Since 1991, Pasadena Rotary has bestowed this award on educators who demonstrate an exemplary ability to connect with their students and nurture a love for learning. The goal of the Teachers of Excellence award is to foster and encourage excellence in teaching and dedication to education while also showing that this community supports its own public school system.
